The aim of the project was to ensure that the status information of the four well areas with a distance of 2 to 4 kms from one another are transmitted to the SCADA at the collection station 10 kms away. To ensure upgradability, a 10 km long Gigabit optical connection was installed. The well areas are connected with a 100 Megabit optical connection. Data collection is provided by MOXA ioLogik devices.

Again, MOXA devices are an optimal choice because of their extended operating temperature range and in addition every area was installed to a simple, unheated outdoor cabinet. The other important reason for using MOXA devices is the 12–48V supply voltage requirement that enables the simple installation of a solar panel well area station with a 12V battery supply.
